Historically, the NEDiv Mini-Con has been held in November. This year, we made a change at the request of the NEDiv council. Instead, the 2019 mini-con was held February 15-16, 2019.
Details
The Mini-Con pulled together SCCA competitors, crew, administrators and other members from throughout the Northeast. We saw 100 attendees from across 16 of the 20 NEDiv Regions of the SCCA. We gathered to train new stewards, discuss programs, provide relevant content and presentations across different programs, present divisional awards and, of course, socialized and had some fun outside of a competition weekend.
Susquehanna Region was excited to be the host of the 2019 Mini-Con. It was the first the Region had hosted since 2001.

Registration is online on motorsportreg.com. The cost for the mini convention is $150 with the luncheon/awards banquet included. The cost without the luncheon is $120, and lunch only to bring a guest is $40. Great question! The awards portion of the event will take place over the luncheon on Saturday, February 16. The normal NEDiv meeting that, in the past would have taken place Sunday morning, will take place at the end of the day Saturday this year. So Friday we’ll have a cocktail party and Saturday will be jam-packed with sessions, awards and the NEDiv meeting.

- Baltimore Washington International (BWI) — 92 miles / 1.5 hours
- Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) — 116 miles / 2 hours
BWI and Philly both fly Southwest while HIA (Harrisburg International) is much closer to the venue, but doesn’t fly Southwest and is often more expensive to fly. It’s your pick!

Central Pennsylvania is rich in history, fun and shopping… it’s got something for everyone to enjoy! Below are some ideas provided to attendees in case they wanted to extend their stay and make the Mini-Con part of a mini-getaway!
Breweries & Wineries (11)
The impressive three-story brick and heavy timber structure was built circa 1915. The lagering room portion of the brewery dates back to 1890. Throughout the brewery, antique brick walls, massive wooden beams, hardwood floors and ceilings provide a warmth and inner glow rivaled only by the beer itself.

Tröegs Independent Brewing is comprised of a production brewery as well as a Tasting Room/Snack Bar and General Store. The brewery features a self-guided tour path through fermentation, filtration, quality, and packaging that is open during normal operating hours, as well as behind-the-scenes guided tours that typically require reservations.

Zeroday Brewing Co. is a brewery and tasting room located in the Midtown district of Harrisburg right next to the Midtown Cinema. Just a few blocks from the capitol, our tasting room provides a social gathering space for our community members and thirsty travelers alike.
We specialize in clean, balanced ales and lagers and offer Pennsylvania wine and cider. We showcase our amazing brews alongside some incredible local art, and on occasion you can enjoy your brew to the soundtrack of some of the area’s best musicians.

A warm welcome awaits you at our tasting room, patios, and grounds. The property dates back to the Revolutionary War and is complete with artifacts from the Indians who roamed it and used its natural springs before then. The property incorporates beautiful fields, streams, orchards, vineyards, and wildlife. The farm has been owned by only three families since the 1740’s and has been a haven for many – we like to think of it as our little patch of Eden.

Harrisburg’s first distillery since Prohibition. We are local to the core. We use local ingredients to create our spirits and partner with Pennsylvania businesses whenever possible (including the draft beers & wines we pour and lots of the snacks we serve). Our goal is crafting superb, distinct products that reflect our roots and make Pennsylvania proud. Stop in for a free tasting and stick around for a handcrafted cocktail or martini.

The mission of the Millworks restaurant carries through into the Millworks on-site Brewery. Craft beers made with local ingredients are served and available in both the restaurant and the rooftop biergarten. Enjoy a craft beer with a local sustainable meal or while strolling through our art galleries.

In addition to the beer, guests can order light snacks such as hot peppers, pickles, Miller’s hot bologna, chips and cookies. They also sell fudge made by Fudge-O-lutely at the Broad Street Market in Harrisburg. On weekends, Boneshire has teamed up with vendor Nomad BBQ to sell its barbecue specialties such as pulled pork, chicken on a stick, Mexican corn on the cob and buttermilk cornbread.

Ever Grain Brewing Co. prides themselves in using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients, with a local twist. Their goal is to provide your taste buds with a new experience every time you visit the brewery.

Taproom features 10 rotating taps, seating for 40 people, and light fare including BBQ Sandwiches, Local Artisan Cheese Plates, Paninis, a selection of nachos, and other snacks. They serve wine by the glass from Knob Hall and Allegro, a selection of house-designed cocktails with spirits from local craft distilleries, and hard cider from Big Hill Ciderworks.
You can expect all sorts of special, limited releases with the Taste of the Taproom series as they love to experiment on their small scale brewing system. And being beer geeks themselves, they’re looking forward to serving you their finest brews in ways you can’t get them anywhere else.

Cullari Vineyards and Winery is a small boutique bottler and producer that specializes in both traditional dry and sweet red, white and pink wines, and also some unusual and uniquely crafted grape and fruit wine varieties that are only available at our tasting rooms.

The AACA Museum hosts a variety of events dedicated to the preservation and presentation of motor vehicle history in a manner that provides for the education and entertainment of guests.

The Rolls-Royce Foundation is an independent, non-profit, charitable organization dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the heritage of Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motorcars. The museum includes cars from across the line of Rolls-Royce and Bentley models, and a selection of related materials in changing displays.

While this museum strongly reflects the popularity of the open wheel, dirt track racing so popular throughout the northeast, you can also see a wide variety of racing machines from many other forms of racing including sprint cars, midgets, stock cars, motorcycles, Indy cars, NASCAR, drag racing and more.

The museum has a mission of serving as a national center to inspire lifelong learning of the American Civil War through the preservation and balanced presentation of the American peoples’ struggles for survival and healing.

The park commands a magnificent view of the Susquehanna River and Blue Mountains beyond.

The official museum of everything Pennsylvania was created in 1905 for the collection, preservation, research and interpretation of cultural and natural history of the state.

The Whitaker center has an iMax cinema, a science museum and shows on its list of offerings. As “one place to discover it all,” there’s truly something for people of all ages.

This museum experience examines the journey of Milton Hershey from failed entrepreneur to chocolate king and philanthropic benefactor. Explore the history of Hershey in an educational and immersive environment, well-suited for both adults and kids.

Nestled within the Capital City’s emerging midtown neighborhood in a newly reclaimed building, the Susquehanna Art Museum serves as a catalyst in the Commonwealth to offer educationally superior programming and diversely extraordinary exhibitions.

The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) makes available contemporary and historical materials related to strategic leadership, the global application of Landpower, and U.S. Army Heritage to inform research, educate an international audience, and honor Soldiers, past and present.

Enter the 1899 Victorian Firehouse, Home of the Reily Hose Co. No. 10 and experience the sights and sounds of Firefighting History. The Pennsylvania National Fire Museum features fire apparatus from Handtubs and Steam Pumpers, hand drawn to horse drawn, to motorized Engines and a 1935 MACK tillered Ladder Truck. An outstanding and varied collection of artifacts are on display.

The Demuth Museum is dedicated to developing awareness, understanding and appreciation of the artwork and legacy of Charles Demuth, renowned American modernist painter, and his family’s contributions to the Lancaster community.
The Demuth Museum strives to engage and inspire a diverse range of audiences by pursuing an innovative program of exhibitions, education, scholarship and collections activities. National in scope, while reflecting the distinctive character of the Lancaster region, the Demuth Museum explores the compelling work and legacy of Charles Demuth.

Explore over 25 covered bridges in PA Dutch Country. Just the sight of covered bridges brings to mind thoughts of old charm and romance. The Mission of the group is to encourage a large community involvement to help in barn preservation, to celebrate our rural culture, pride in farm property and conservation, to educate youth and visitors on the value of the agricultural economy, to celebrate the quilting tradition, and to create a year round attraction that fosters other community events and projects. A Barn Quilt is a large painted quilt square mounted on or directly painted typically on the gable end or side of a barn, business, garden shed or house. A Barn Quilt Trail is a self-guided driving tour of the decorated structures with a map to locate and reference the known history of the facility or significance of the quilt block and the Barn Quilt sponsor.
