Barn Quilt RoadRally!

Susquehanna Region is excited to bring back Road Rally to the region! Please join us on the inaugural Quilt Trail Road Rally, in conjunction with the Fulton Barn Quilt Trail. This trail provides a beautiful drive through scenic valleys nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.

This Road Rally is designed to provide an enjoyable drive through the country side while conducting a scavenger hunt for Barn Quilts. This Rally is a “social” event and is not based on accurate time and distance. That means this is NOT a time and distance rally, and it is NOT a race. Scoring will be based on the ability of driver and navigator to answer questions about things seen on the route and staying on course, finishing in the appropriate time frame.

We’ll be using only a portion of the trail route. Roads are challenging with sharp curves, steep climbs and wildlife crossings all combined with an unknown route. Driver and navigator must work together to stay on course while looking for clues. While speed will not improve your score, accurate answers and descriptions of the quilts you spot will, and there will be prizes for each class.

The goal is for members and non-members to come out for a pleasant Saturday drive (while following the speed limits and all local laws). Come out, enjoy the view and spot the quilts!

$25 per car ($35 day-of registration)

Notes

• Directions and mileage points will be provided to all participants at the registration check-in
• Check points will be set up along the route.
• This is a GREAT opportunity to get younger family members involved in a driving activity
• All are welcome to participate—paid SCCA membership is not a requirement
• This event will take place rain or shine; only extreme weather conditions would warrant a cancellation

Schedule of Events

• 10:30am: Registration opens
• 11:30am: Registration closes
• 11:30am: Vehicles begin route
• Estimated time to complete route: 2.5 hours

Things to do Around Town

In addition to the Road Rally activity there will also be Fall Truck And ATV Dirt Drags held at the Fulton County Fair in McConnellsburg, starting at 4 pm. This is the facility where the Road Rally will start and finish. Visit their Facebook page for more details
