Event Calendar

Susquehanna Region of the SCCA typically begins our season at the end of March and holds events through the end of October, but the club meets monthly year-round to continue planning and enhancing our programs. We invite you, not only to attend the adrenaline-laden events, but also to join us for dinner and a drink each month for member meetings.

You’ll find the details for all of these (and on occasion, more) in the calendar below. We look forward to seeing you at an event soon!

HEAT DETAILS
Heat details are generally provided in our Facebook group by the Friday prior to the event. However, changes may be made the morning of to accommodate different numbers of drivers in each class. If the number of entries at an event becomes too great, the number of heats may be increased. We will make every effort to determine if the number of heats will be increased prior to the event, but most likely the decision to add a heat will not be made until the day of the event, after all entries/cancelations have been processed, and total number of entrants or classes is counted.

We plan to give each entrant four (4) runs. Novice class will run in the same heat with their corresponding Open Class.

NUMBERS / CLASS IDENTIFICATION

Entrants must provide their own car numbers and class identification. Download printable numbers and class letters>>

The driver is responsible for determining the car’s classification. View a quick-guide for car class allowances>>

Car numbers and class information must be displayed on both sides of their car during competition runs. Numbers and letters conforming to Section 3.7 of the SCCA Solo Rulebook are highly recommended (8” high numbers, 4” high class identification). In the event that your vehicle already has painted or other permanent numbers that do not reflect your number and/or class, they must be covered or crossed out. Regardless of which numbers you use, make sure to place them on your car before going through tech inspection. The Tech Chief and/or Solo Chair have final say in determining whether identification is appropriate.

REQUIREMENTS

You must show your valid driver’s license. If you are not an SCCA member, you will be required to buy a $15 Weekend Membership. Only buy one membership for the weekend. It is good for both AM and PM events. Check your email for a member number to use on the additional weekend event entry, or email registration@scca-susq.com if you do not receive one.

All competitors and spectators must sign the insurance waiver and wear helmets while on course. View helmet certification requirements>>

Speed is limited to 5 MPH in the pits and the surrounding areas. No tire warm ups will be permitted. Your car must pass our technical inspection in order to compete. You are strongly advised to drive slowly/conservatively on public roads surrounding the event.

EVENT TIMETABLE

AFTERNOON SESSION TIMELINE DEPENDS ON ENDING OF MORNING SESSION AND CHECK IN OF ALL PRE-REGISTERED DRIVERS, so it is flexible.

Please note that none of these times are guaranteed, but just estimates.  Times may change due to the outcome of the morning event.  Make sure to plan ahead and arrive earlier rather than later in the morning. Depending on the total number of entries for the AM event, this suggested time schedule may change. In that event, we will post on our Facebook group and email all pre-registered competitors with revised information.

MORNING EVENT TIMETABLE
NOTE: MORNING SESSION – STARTS EARLIER THAN USUAL. ARRIVE ON TIME! Call a friend or organizer if you have an emergency. We must have time to finalize registration before the runs start and can not take very late entrants, even if you have pre-registered.

  • Anyone at an event who must work under their vehicle MUST have that vehicle supported by jack stands or ramps suitable for soft surfaces.
  • Participation while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol will not be tolerated
  • Use common sense, this list is not exhaustive as there are too many no-no’s to list

Forms are available at registration.

RUN PROCEDURE / SCHEDULE
We will run two sessions of competition, a morning session and an afternoon session, likely with course changes between sessions.

We will run two groups of competitors, Group A and Group B. Groups will be comprised of complete car classes. Groups will be organized to have the same number of drivers, or as close the same number of drivers as possible.

The grid sheet outlining which classes are in each group will be posted at registration.

Drivers will be gridded within their class in reverse order of which they registered. This means the earlier you register, the better your starting position.

CAR/DRIVER LIMITS
There will be a maximum of two drivers per car per run group.

METHOD OF TIMING
Our events will be electronically timed with pneumatic hose triggers at start and finish.  Times are reported and recorded to the thousandth of a second.

PENALTIES
A two (2) second penalty will be charged for each upright cone knocked down or displaced, including those after the finish.

A ten (10) second penalty will be charged for missing a gate or going around an upright cone the wrong way.

In the case of a DNF or a jump start, a bogey time will be awarded for that run. That bogey time will be calculated by using the slowest raw time, per class, per run group, plus twenty (20) seconds.

SCORING
Each driver will be scored on his/her total accumulated time for all official runs, including penalties.

MECHANICAL FAILURE
One (1) 15-minute mechanical break (referred to as a “mechanical”) may be taken per event to make necessary repairs.

VEHICLE CLASSIFICATION
All national SCCA RallyCross classes will be recognized:

SR SF SA
PR PF PA
MR MF MA
C2 C4 X

Exhibition (X) class may be used when more than 2 drivers are sharing a car and you cannot go up a class, or if 2 drivers wish to be in opposite groups. X class cars are not scored and therefore are not eligible for season points.

In addition to vehicle eligibility as defined in the 2024 RallyCross rulebook, drivers wishing to compete in a truck, SUV, or crossover must reference the rollover rating found on the website for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( https://www.nhtsa.gov/ratings ). If your specific vehicle is not listed, a vehicle from that same production run a.k.a. “generation”, may be referenced. Vehicles with a rollover risk greater than 17% are barred from entry. Trucks, SUVS, and crossovers not rollover rated on the NHTSA website are also barred from entry. Any suspension modifications that raise the height of any given vehicle will be reviewed for entry eligibility by the Safety Steward. Final discretion of eligibility (special exemption or exclusion) will be ultimately decided by the Safety Steward or program chairs

VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION / CAR NUMBERS
A driver will choose his/her one, two or three digit number at registration. It is highly recommended numbers be approximately 8” high and of a contrasting color. Class lettering is recommended to be approximately 4” high and also of contrasting color.

A leading “0” is no longer permitted.

TECHNICAL INSPECTION AND HELMETS
Every competition vehicle shall be inspected to verify that it is in proper working order, and has a legible registered entrant number on each side of the car.

Helmets must be Snell 2010 or newer (M2010 or SA2010).

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
A competitor must possess a valid driver’s license or driving permit and be prepared to show it at registration. Permit or restricted licenses shall be allowed as set forth by the SCCA RallyCross rules.

Competitors must be SCCA Members. SCCA Weekend Memberships will be available at registration at a cost of $15.00.

AGE REQUIREMENTS
