Regional Meeting Minutes
March 26, 2013
The March General Membership Meeting convened March 26, 2013 at Gilligan’s, Harrisburg, at 8:00 p.m. with Regional Executive Chris Paveglio presiding.
Alan Lesher gave the Treasurer’s Report and said we had very little activity income for the month, but had some membership monies coming in. He said we’d purchased 200 pylons, updated our timing equipment, and had paid for the repairs and improvements to the truck. He further said he’d prepaid the costs associated with the first two Autocrosses at Hershey Park.
Steve Limbert, Membership Chair stated the membership is now at 261, up from 257. This compares to July 2012 at the 270’s.
John Rudy gave out a spreadsheet covering the editorial contributions of the region members. John said he would welcome more contributions from the membership.
Chris Paveglio, Regional Executive, gave the website report. Autocross # 1 and # 2 registration is open on-line, with Rallycross registration being worked on. The printed calendar is being completed and should be available at the first Autocross.
A discussion was held about the B.R.A.K.E.S. program held at the Manheim Auto Auction, with the next event April 6th & 7th, with an instructor class at Lancaster County Public Services Training Center.
This conflicts with the first two Autocrosses, April 6th & 7th at Hershey’s Giant Center.
NEW BUSINESS
Chris Paveglio said a weekend truck cleanout is being scheduled, to clean and organize the truck. The new timing equipment will also be tested. In addition, the desire for additional people to handle the timing chores for the Autocrosses was discussed.
Henry said the paperwork for the Hershey Autocrosses is complete, as well as the Rallycrosses at Trail-Way Speedway. Setup for the Rallycross can be done on Saturdays.
Our participation in the Carlisle Import May 18-19 weekend will only be on Saturday and Sunday this year, not the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as previously.
Henry also mentioned that the first event at the Farm Show may have a conflict for Saturday set-up, due to the Farm Show renting out. Geoff Craig said about four hours is spent setting up the course. Henry said the Rallycross is on the National SCCA schedule, and he’ll give the directions to Chris to put on the web site.
Kate Ritter asked what would be the cutoff to expand the heats from two to additional heats. Intense discussion followed. It was decided to play it by ear, to add heats as needed.
Henry said Mike Snyder had completed the truck graphics, and after the clean up day will be ready to go.
The Castaway Critters group, which was meeting in the room adjacent to our Region meeting, is having its third annual benefit Exotic Car Show at the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum in Hershey on Saturday, April 27th. John Rudy said he attended this event last year and was impressed with the quality of cars on display.
Henry Brillinger made the motion to adjourn, and Alan Lesher seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:44 p.m.
Respectfully submitted, Dennis Cipriany, Region Secretary
